Almarai releases sixth annual sustainability report

Almarai Company issued its sixth annual sustainability report. This comprehensive document encompasses the operations of Almarai Company, extending to its activities within the GCC region.

The report delves into Almarai’s operations as Pure Breeds and their co-manufacturing endeavours. It also highlights the company’s commitment to the National Transformation Program (NTP) under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and their alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Within the report, Almarai showcases its progress in advancing sustainability initiatives, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to attaining the objectives, goals, and pledges laid out in their “Doing Better Every Day” strategy. This strategy revolves around three core pillars: Caring for People, Protecting the Planet, and Producing Responsible Products.

Key achievements featured in the report include:

  • Reducing voluntary employee turnover to attain an average of 12% over the period 2020-2024.
  • Pledging to donate 2.5 million healthy servings by 2025.
  • Enhancing the employability of at least 1,400 young individuals through the Dairy and Food Polytechnic (DFP) programme by 2025.
  • Committing to a 10% increase in the fuel efficiency of their sales, distribution, and logistics vehicles by 2025, relative to a 2018 baseline.
  • Ensuring that 100% of their sales depot cold stores would be CFC-free by 2025.
  • Striving for all manufacturing sites to achieve Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognised certification by 2025.
  • Pursuing global animal welfare certification for their dairy and poultry farming operations by 2025.
